Meghdoot 2.7

Meghdoot, a collaborative effort of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is designed to provide essential information to farmers through a user-friendly mobile application. The app, created by the Digital Agriculture research team at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Hyderabad in partnership with IITM in Pune and IMD in Delhi, efficiently delivers tailored district and crop-specific advisories from the Agro Met Field Units (AMFU) every Tuesday and Friday, along with weather forecasts and historical data directly to farmers' devices. These notifications are also published in local languages whenever possible.
